If he doesn't sign, he doesn't sign. He'll move on, we'll move on. We'll sign top players, I'm sure of it.
It's early days and these things are never easy so I'm keeping positive.

I used to think like that. But I was quick to realise that Everton build you up to let you down.

Thats the right attitude, ive got every confidence in moyes to find the right players for our club. As LCAB said, Ba is a bonus signing not a long term target so if it doesnt happen no great issue!

How can a player of Ba's calibre just be a bonus signing who was/is the main target then to get us 20+ a season? Bothroyd?

True mate and maybe i'm a glutten for punishment but I honestly think we'll get 1 or 2 gooduns whether it will be loans or permanents.

Cos we havnt tracked him for months and months. Hes a good player whos become available on a free, and wed be daft not to be in for him.

Spot on!

Hate the way people are quick to jump on kenwrights back over any failed transfer deal, people need to realise its not football manager. Everton dont have much money, Demba Ba wanted high wages (according to reports anything between 50 and 75k per week), Demba Ba has a bad record of injuries. All of them factors put together mean serious consideration needs to be put into the deal. With our injury record and his, is it worth getting him in on a high wage? You need measure the risk and then decide. Therefore it could be the case that everton pulled the deal and lets be honest newcastle have a track record of just throwing money about blindly.

True, I just remembered we was linked back in January. Anyway, if we have other targets in mind other than Bothroyd, It wont be to bad.

Ok not technically free but no big fee up front which is what we struggle with. Weve shown in the past we can do stage payment transfers, ala Fellaini.

I agree with that, but there is still a fee and with his wages and injury record we need to be very careful about the transfer ala sean davis falling through. If he signs for newcastle and gets a serious injury straight away we will all breathe a sigh of relief on the other hand he could bang them in and we're gutted. We just need to think is it a risk we can take in our financial position?
