I sense this Denis will be good in the air and as such will help Cahill. That's got to be Moyes' reasoning behind the transfer.
He might not actually be a very good footballer though. Just a big unit and a force aerially.
Reminds me of Kevin Davies in some ways...who, I might add, I suggested getting in I think Moyes' 2nd year here. I was promptly booed off the pitch for it, but he's been a relaible CF for Bolton for yonks now. /dig

I have a mate that lives in America who knows a good deal about Argentine/Mexican/Brazilian/MLS football and he basically said that this lad was unplayable at times up front for Tigre and they were an awful team otherwise, he single handedly kept them going. He said Fiorentina, Napoli and Inter were all interested in him and that he is a very similar player to Diego Milito, on that basis I can't wait to have a proper look at him next saturday.

We should all judge him after we've seen him play after like 10 full games. If Saha can stay fit, both Denis and king louis upfront, im sure we'll get plenty of goals, but that all depends if Moyes ever plays the two upfront.
I'm looking forward to next week and seeing both signings, especially Drenthe with his pace and taking on people!

I'd expected a big lump of a forward, but I'm impressed that he seems to have good strikers instincts. He peels away into space, he attacks the ball in the box and he looks to be surprisingly quick. Things could be looking up.

Nah, they bought Sabella and the rumor was they were offered Maradona at the same time. But everyone involves denies it and given that at the time Maradona was already making a name for himself, I'm willing to believe them.
I think it's possible they made a bid for him but couldn't stump up enough cash or something like that, though.
