Technically he's got to improve, but his attitude is spot on. He seems to work the channels much better these days, and his hold up play is coming along. Nice to see him drive into the area today with a winding run.

I think he's one of these cases where people will be made up for him when he gets his first goal. I think we do like this, it's a nice story isn't it?

Technically not the best, got a terrible first touch, but he has got strength, aerial ability, workrate and fully justifies a start instead of Saha. What is the worst that could happen? The ball gets fired up to him and he gives it away, that is no different to what Louis is doing now - Louis cannot play the lone striker.

Bear in mind he hasn't had loads of game time so he will still be adapting to the pace of the Prem, yet, he still looked better then Saha has all season. The first time i saw Straq come on as a sub i didn't think he looked Prem material, since then though he hasn't looked bad atall so i'd say he is making progress.

I agree with this, I think there are definite signs of improvement in his general play and today his first touch seemed a lot better, he ran the channels well, showed plenty of energy, determination and held the ball up well. I'd like to see him get some more game time to see how much he can keep improving. On sheer effort and threat I'd rather start with him than Saha.

This!!! Saha has was sh1te today. Strac has more dangerous looking runs and gave more effort. Im not saying that he is the answer to our striking problems but he is a better answer than Saha.

The MOTD analysis was interesting. Saha was coming short all the time, so we had nobody to aim for upfront. That changed when Straq came on. It seems like he relishes wrestling them by himself and some of his footwork looked pretty decent.

I still think he'll go back to Argentina at the end of the season as he's a Championship striker at best. He did alright when he came on today like, but it's not difficult to look good when you're replacing Saha merely just by looking half arsed.

We had a Championship striker last year who netted 10. I think we would take that kind of Championship output from anyone not named Hitler.

Deserves a place ahead of Cahill.

I agree. Cahill is useless if not scoring and it's been a year. Straq at least is getting stuck in, getting his head on it, and holds the ball up reasonably well while looking for a pass. Cahill doesn't seem to get near the ball in the box anymore.

It's strange to say but I am afraid that Cahill is going to find the net here soon and that will secure another year of guaranteed selection with mediocre results. Both Straq and Osman have more to offer in that slot right now.
