He actually helped with the goal today, watch the replay, he blates takes out somebody who was diving in to stop Heskey, I mean Victor FFS.

I'm not sold on the straq yet, but I think Goat's point merits repeating.

While his strike rate is non-existant, goals "seem" to be happening while he is on the pitch. It is nearly impossible to quantify an effect like this, but he has at least one assist (flick on to drenthe) nearly had another (another head flick a few weeks ago) and seems to be doing a good job of keeping defenders honest and opening up space for others.

I just love him, he's a bulldozer and a sectret physco.

I dont care what his football's like, he's more entertaining than Phillip highlights step over finger pointing screaming manc Neville.

Bulldozer is a great description. Doesn't look good, but things seem to happen when he's on the pitch.

I wouldn't mind seeing him upfront with Barkley playing in the slot Cahill occupies now. Straq holding up the play for Barkley to run on, and creating space for someone like Ross who actually takes the ball and does something with it. But then I'm delusional.

Gotta start El Traca now. I believe that if Moyes plays Straq and Saha then those two can form a good partnership because one of them is good in the air and Saha is good in the link up play. I know that Saha has been lazy and awful but blame again goes to Moyes' tactics cos Saha can't play up on his own and he has no one to support him when he gets the ball and so he continuously passes it backwards to let the play come forward. Did he play hoof ball at Man Utd or at Fulham? I don't think so.

forget anything you have seen previously with Barkley, in his sub appearances it is evident that anything of an attacking nature in his game is being trained out of him, by the time we get to see him he'll be our next def. midfielder.

Reminds me of Dixie in his looks...

I was thinking that as well. Hopefully he's got some of Dixie's goals as well.

I think Strac and Saha could work really well together. Strac can hassle the defenders and make forward runs while Saha works in the build up. Saha isn't effective without a partner so why not try him with Strac?

The straq played with determination and the desire to 'have a go ' something I've not seen from Saha for a long time.
He ran the channels well getting into the box with the ball at his feet, causing the west brom defence no end of trouble.
Something I never seen saha or Cahill do in the previous 70 minutes.

I think everytime I've seen him he's looked like a decent player. He's not done much special stuff, but I don't look at him and think he's going to give the ball away cheaply. He gets involved and is surprisingly powerful.

Does anyone else think we should actually give him a decent run in the team? We've got this guy on loan, we're strapped for cash and we might as well see how good he can actually be and whether it's worth actually purchasing him at the end. Get in Straq son!

well, Moyse did make a big play in his post match interview of saying he was being adventurous and we got the win, so maybe he's taken some of the criticism on board
