…I’m always wary of players who shine at international summer tournaments but I’m very encouraged that we were linked before it started. Be a decent find by Brands if it transpires.

Can we really call it a find when all he's done is go back to his previous employer? I'm not anti-Brands for the record but he's hardly had to turn a stone to know about Dumfries.

Who cares how he finds a player though, as long they're good. Every signing doesn't have to be plucked out of thin air as an extraordinary find, Brands knows about Dumfries and he obviously fits the bill of what we need. No problems from me
….I don’t care if he stumbled across him in his back garden, it’s still his find ahead of other suitors. Ultimately, he’ll be accountable regarding how the move works out.
A lot of people forget how good Coleman was for about five years. That first season under Martinez is probably the most I’ve ever loved a player.
I saw nothing in the Euros to suggest that he lacked technical ability.
I thought he was more than adequate technically and I though his positioning for the role that he played was very good.
I don't know if he would be defensively sound in a back four and that is the question mark over him.
But, it seems to me that he could easily play in front of a full back and offer both defensive cover and attacking threat at the same time.
A good player is a good player and can adapt to whatever is asked of him. I certainly thought he was one of the best players in the Dutch squad in the Euros and to be captain of PSV at just 24-25 must mean he has leadership qualities as well.

How long before he starts getting called crap ?
…when you’ve got a stride like his, the pitch is small.
I think much will depend on who plays ahead and alongside him. Having somebody like Godfrey will provide a bit of a safety net but I imagine Benitez will have them quite disciplined regarding cover when full backs attack.
