I think we might put in a good offer ‘acceptable to all’ but then the player/agent might wait for a CL club to come in to a certain point.
So we are stuck in limbo waiting for that offer to be accepted/rejected.
Hence we’re seen to be dithering but in reality we’re being played and are willing to wait instead of moving to a secondary target

When Raiola is involved it can only be a clusterf...! Brands chum will pull him and Everton over the table like every time (Lukaku, Kean, ...)

We made a 62mil profit on Lukaku. Will make a profit on Kean too. I'm no fan of Raiola but so far so good where Everton are concerned imo

I expect the player is still on holidays after their elimination from the Euros.
He will not be reporting back for pre season for another week or two so there isn't an immediate rush.

That will be the case no matter what club he plays for next season.
If a club signs him he will probably turn up for a medical and then go back on holiday.
 
I had only heard of Dumfries immediately before the Euros when he was mentioned as a player we were interested in signing.

He was massively impressive with Holland but it was totally as an attacking wing back with limited defensive responsibilities from what I could see.

I wonder how effective he would be as a full back in a back four, just wondering if anybody has seen him play as a proper defender ?

He's rotten in a back four, only really any good in a a back five with players to cover his runs forward.

Ive posted on him before...

In short, physical, athletic etc but limited technically...

€15mil/£13mil is ok for someone who we will probably try to sell in 2 seasons time.
 
Unpopular opinion, but seeing as he's 25, taking the punt seems a bit stupid to me. I could understand if he was 20-22, but he's coming into his peak years and there's no guarantee he can perform at the top level. Aarons seems like a clear candidate fo me.

It seems he's our number one target for RB but we're (understandably) not his number 1 move. If it happens it'll take time.

There's not much we can do about it we're not the most attractive option atm.
