In short both we and Inter want him badly. He wants to go to Inter, but Inter can't afford him.
Expect we might finally get him, but with all sorts of escape clauses in his contract so he can move instantly to a 'bigger' club whenever offers are made, or he might just do another year at PSV and get his move after the World Cup next year.

i think you are way off there and the dutch written doesnt say that. Dumfries has said in the press some time ago that he deffo wants a next step so staying at PSV i can not see. That he might prefer Inter to us is logic and Raoila seems an agent who wants his clients to go to the biggest clubs possible even if that is maybe not the best move.
If we push hard and Inter might wait and have other options we have a chance.

I do think he will move, but if he comes here it will only be for the short term, and clauses in his contract will make that perfectly clear.
I usually have doubts about signing players from the eridivese, but his athleticism will help him adapt well to English football i reckon

My guess would be him and his agent are hoping for a better move, and we will probably have to wait until transfer deadline day to sign him. I would imagine the situation will be the same with most players. We can't offer European football so good players will be difficult to attract.

if he joins he doesnt strike me as the type that will only be here short term. Yes if he does well obviously in a couple of years there will be bigger clubs in for him. But note his last season at PSV wasnt that great and just before the EURO's he wasnt a certain starter for the Dutch team anyway.
It is not like we are signing a De Ligt / De Jong type of player lol

How am I fuming? Im simply pointing out the clubs recruitment is a joke and how anyone can defend the process after the last 7 or so years is baffling.
Just put a bid in and either the player/club says yes or no then you either move on or negotiate like 99% other clubs do. We'll talk for weeks and ponder/consider/weigh up/debate making an offer and we wonder why we scramble around on deadline day because we waste valuable time playing silly buggers.

Recruitment process has long been an issue, not just the last 7 years, "Dithering Dave" was loud and clear every transfer.
For all we know there might be bids, the one thing about the club these days is there is a HELL of a lot less coming out of it, even the manager issue was all leaked by the managers camps.
