Sharpie said he had heard Simeone had been approached and didnt dismiss anything , in fact he heard he was very impressed with the plans/project. He said it would be hard to prise him out of his contract mid season and maybe could be end of season.
Also he scoffed that Big Sam wasnt interested in the job , said its not what he heard . He heard Sam wanted the job on a long contract ....that wasnt gonna happen.
Didnt sound optomistic for Unsworth either.

In reality he has no idea about our project and he's an elite level manager who would have elite level clubs after him should he leave Atletico. Ambition is good... we should be... we should have ambitions of CL etc... but you have to have a realistic plan to achieve it.... we couldn't attract giroud... a player that isn't a starter for a team that finished outside the CL places... we had to overpay for koeman from an average PL team... our abortions and unrealistic targets have got us to where we are now... fighting relagation.... why would Simone come here? We don't have time to waste on chasing things that won't happen... have you not realised this yet
