I'm well aware of that but you are giving me grief for saying we shouldn't be wasting time chasing Simone we tried to show ambition and nobody wants to join us yet we need to show progression and get to a stage where people actually believe that we are capable of challenging for CL spots Simone will not come to a team that was in the bottom two last week
Assuming the club is chasing him, then why not? Hopefully, they've learned a thing or two about eggs in one basket, though I have my doubts. You've got to chase the big names when you want to compete. Sure, have a fall back but if all we're ever after is someone of Fat Sam's ilk, then why would the top even bother to take our call?
Guardiola wouldn't have gone to City in their first few years of being cashed up & it's fair to assume the same for us, but I bet they sounded them out like us.
Not one full stop used mate
I counted 14 but you cleverly hid them on top of the letter '"i" and a sneaky one atop a "j"...

*Edit. In fairness, I reread your posts that I responded to & I think I misread them as having a go at forum members for contributing to the thread. I think that's not the case so apologies if you took offence.

The difference between us and City when they first had money is that we don't have the same level of money they had. We're in a better financial position than before Moshiri came but all we did was spend the Lukaku money and a bit on top that could be accounted for by the higher TV revenue.

I don't get why some people talk as if we're loaded. We're in a good financial position but we can't spend the same on wages or transfer fees as any of the top clubs without selling some of our key players.

I don't see any reason why a top manager would consider us an attractive option when we haven't got the finances to break the top 6 on paper.

When Man City were bought out they had the money to spend more on wages and transfer fees than any club. Totally different position to what we're in.

Whilst I'm in the exact same stance as you, and really, I am.

I can't help but feel we're going to do something ridiculous and pull this off, and throw him wads of cash.

Realistically, do i think Simeone is the right man? Not at the moment in time. He's in the same class as Ancelotti for me tbh, in that, he's a top class manager, who managers top class players and wins. Could he come in, and take our team of under performers and make them great? I don't think so. We need a Pochettino-esque manager, who will get us there, and then if something changes, we can look that way. But realistically? We're not ready for an appointment like Simeone.

I'd love it if we could get him but it would only be worth it if we can give him the money needed to buy top level players, which I'm doubtful of.

Simeone may be one of the few elite level managers willing to take a team from scratch. But I wouldn't put any money on him coming here in the near future.

No offence taken mate... and I wouldn't have a go at members. I just think that we are at such a crucial stage that we cannot afford to waste time chasing dreams. Our top flight status is seriously under threat IMO and the games until January are critical. We need to give unsworth the job until at least January or apporint another manager. I would love Simone but it's pie in the sky imo

Way too sensible and balanced.

Could you please stop and join in with the fantasy that is Simeone as an Everton manager.

Thanks x

Think he’s had enough at Atletico Madrid and is making it known to the top clubs that he would be looking for a change in the summer.

Obviously we are just getting used to drum up the interest.
