Very true, but think we got carried away with Keane being the answer to that position and not imagining Williams form would nose dive.

Considering We ended up with no centre forward that is amazingly amateur. Seriously though that is poor from the board, a joke!

If there was a bid then I stand corrected , have no inside knowledge so can only choose to believe the media.

Spend guarantees are irrelevant when we seem totally incompetent at actually signing players.

We could have four hundred million to spend, this ain't Fifa.

Yeah I agree. I think there is a massive divide between the players we want and the ones we get.

The summer out of context so to speak was better buy still it did bring the best player in a crap team here rather than a key player in a good team. Chelsea bought the champions best player, United bought the second highest scorer in the league. Our players although individually good signings were not exactly improving much more than how bad the overall squad was to begin with. That's a basic look at it though

Agree, context is everything. It could have been (and probably was ) the equivalent of " HaHa. If you like ,lad ".
Still in lieu of any other news it bears a cheerful consideration, if ultimately fruitless.
