Difference between a Legend and Cult Hero

Would you class Duncan Ferguson as a legend??? I've had the argument with many that Ferguson was a cult hero and never a legend

I place both on the same pegging. To me they made Everton. To me, yes they are both Legends. To you, maybe not. But that's your choice.

If you're going to be pedantic then Dunc for me is definitely a legend.

Because a legend is something you pass down; stories you tell and to be honest probably exaggerate and embellish. I'll be telling tales of Dunc for a long time to come because he meant that much to me and whilst he wasn't a world class player, there was so much about him that was extraordinary and worth telling.

I'm sorry you've got such an anti Cahill agenda mate, I really am. A professional footballers contribution goes beyond what is done on the pitch. Cahill is a name that defines the last decade at Everton, he's leaving a legacy behind, not only in Liverpool, but all around the globe. How many players do you know that have tried to give so much back to the club and the game in general? He spends his off seasons back in Australia running clinics every year.

He gave 7 very good years where he provided well over 50 goals. But i'm sorry, that's all it is to you aye, the goals? Cahill did everything for this club, on and off the pitch. He played in any position that was asked and gave it 150%, even if it was unnatural to him. He's a legend in my eyes mate, just because he didn't win anything doesn't mean he can't be labelled that because that's cruel. Is he a great footballer? no, he isn't. He was a footballer that always punched above his weight just like this club has been doing for the last decade. Just because he isn't the most gifted footballer doesn't mean he is not a legend.

THIS!

Everyones entitled to their opinion. He's an Everton legend in my eyes.

Words such as genius, legend, world class etc are thrown around willy-nilly these days and it really gets me blood boiling!!!
Yeah I know. Look at this maniac throwing around the word "disgrace" as if he has no idea of the meaning:

Do you lot even know what the difference is or would you like me to school you? Going around calling Cahill a legend. Complete and utter disgrace tbh!!!!

*Claps Hands* First and only sensible comment (apart from me own) that I've read since joining this site.
Well if you find it that difficult to read sensible comments you should leave or get yourself banned (oh what's that? he was banned in the middle of me writing this reply thus making this reply somewhat moot? well I'm going to post it anyway. why? I don't know why. It's the summer that's why. shut up. you're not my dad!).
