The director of football should stretch over scouting and all other areas of the club. Making sure we have a continuity plan if the manager leaves, potentially outlining a style of play and the players we need to make it successful. Also looking at youth level and implementing a Syllabus and programme us to see us sign the best and develop players both for our first team and for future transfers fees.
The director of football shd be responsible for us recognising Everton as a club, what we stand for on the pitch and ensuring that the style does differ too drastically with every change of manager.

Newcastle will both pay him more and he’s going into a clean slate of a job. If he came here he’d have to both do his normal job and fight the dinosaurs at the top to actually do his normal job. He’d be a madman to come here.
