Discussion & help on depression & mental health related issues

I absolutely love the festive period, mostly being off work, but detest Christmas Day. It has just never lived up to the way I want it to be in my head.
Yeah, the work downtime is my favourite part. Christmas day is best ignored imho. I've got into a routine of taking my and my mom's dog for a long walk. There's never anyone around, so it's superb.

Yeah, it's not necessarily the be all and end all but it works for some. Have you tried getting in touch with the Liverpool NHS provider? I'm assuming you're in Liverpool, apologies if you aren't. https://www.talkliverpool.nhs.uk/what-we-do/further-therapies/
I'm in the West Midlands mate.

My Mum died on the 7th January, yes a few years back now to be fair, but I have never recovered, then my Arl Fella died after I cared for him full time, life can be just shoite !!
Then the Wife left me for another bloke, whilst I was at football, she left a note,
I haven't ever recovered, I am currently sleeping on my best mate's couch !!

:(

Christ, that's a rough old ride there bud. A lot of grief to deal with.

Not the greatest fan of this time of year. Think so many of us would be happier if it was just declared a time to hibernate. Buy this, pretend to be cheerful etc. Bah. With finances and the economy etc, particularly this year, I imagine many are feeling crappy and pressured

Me? I'm in that box, but my old man died on the 20th 9 years ago. Always feel flat each year since.

Anyway, if you're not feeling it, for whatever reason, you're really not alone. And there's no shame in it.
I love this time of year, always have. I always have to remind myself that not everyone does, though. It’s awful how all-encompassing it is, to the extent that those who don’t like it or are struggling really can’t escape it. It doesn’t help that social media is full of people at the very least pretending to have a boss time and showing off to all and sundry.

I always try to pop in here on and around the day so I’ll be around for a natter and I promise not to mention Chrimbo once! I’ll be spamming the Messy thread with my Chrimbo dinner pictures, like.

I don't want to burden you mate, sorry, ignore my shoite, sometimes I just need an outpour of grief !!
Don't apologise that's exactly what this thread is all about, better out than in as they say.
You've had a lot to put up with mate for sure but you know what, how well did you do looking after your parents that's a wonderful thing you did and shows what a caring person you are.
I know it must be really tough for you at the moment but please believe that things will get better, look after yourself now first and foremost and start looking up.
You come across on your posts as having a sense of humour and personality so that's another two things in your favour.
Have you thought about joining a local drama group? You will meet other people and it will give you a fresh challenge.
