Discussion & help on depression & mental health related issues

Here's a strange one, can anyone help, I am not in a good place mentally, I have a rent a room, but can't sleep in it, I feel claustrophobic in it, so much so, I prefer to sleep on the couch in the lounge with Talksport on low in the background, with the blinds open, I am struggling !!

Being able to breathe is important, feeling able is another thing. If the air is hot and stuffy it isn't relaxing, and if you are torturing yourself at the same time it's a recipe for long nights of little sleep.

Is it time to look for professional face to face help yet?

Who cares what 'people' think, it aint 'them' going through it. Ask the question to get on the CBT list asap. The sooner you are on, the sooner you are seen.

I have been very specific previous on this.

If you want to get well, it is entirely upon you to WANT to get there...

I don’t think many of us like being alone with our thoughts when we’re in a bad place. As long as you’re not offending/inconveniencing your flat mate(s) with the couch sleeping then crack on mate. Do what you have to do, to get a crumb of comfort where you can.

Maybe try phasing your way towards the bedroom - Put Talksport on in there, try sleeping with the door open, etc.

Please seek help, no one will think you are a loon. Here in Cambridgeshire we have a self referral system for mental health problems which are accessible online, maybe there is something like that where you live. We all spend far too much time worrying what people think but when all is said and done, it really doesn’t matter. One man who attended our group therapy sessions confessed that he hadn’t been to his temple in ages as he was afraid of wetting himself. It took a great amount of courage to even admit it in public in the first place, having got over this first hurdle the next step was to attend the temple. The worst thing that could happen was that he would actually wet himself which would be embarrassing but as our therapist said no one has actually died of embarrassment, people might talk but it would be over and done with and the gossips would move on to the next thing. It took him a couple of weeks before he actually made it inside the temple and when he announced that he’d done it was pure joy. Please don’t give up, let people think what they will, not important.?
