Discussion & help on depression & mental health related issues

Hopefully in a couple of weeks, or so ! My life is a living nightmare, & found out today my son's Grandad is dying, & EFC are shoite !! :( ?
Right, so problem person is fixed in two weeks. result.
I asked you if he's problematic with you - no answer. hmmm.
Have you signed up for a course of therapy yet?
Bad news about your lads grandad, hope he comes through.
Everton being awful is not news.

How have you moved your situation forwards?

No, the son is fine with me, although we have had our moments !
If he goes back to Uni , not sure he will !! He's a waste of space !!
I haven't addressed anything in my life, & my ex wife is still fcuking with my head !!

So what are you waiting for to change?

landlord and son aren't an issue. time to get some professional help?
Just feel my life is shoite, which it is !!
I don't have money issues or work issues, for now,
It's just I am mentally a mess,
but no one around me realises or cares,
They are not interested !

Can someone tell me why I burst into tears at the drop of a hat !!

Pathetic !!
It's not pathetic. However, I would strongly recommend seeking professional help if you haven't already; speak to your GP or visit a councillor.

It can be difficult, mainly as people think it won't help or it'll be perceived as a sign of weakness, but in fact it's the exact opposite. You need to identify the issues.

If you can't do that alone, someone else can and will assist you. Things won't be fixed overnight, although small, manageable steps can build up to big gains.

If you live locally, e.g. Liverpool, I can privately forward on some contacts if that were to help? Stay strong, mate.

It's not pathetic mate it is just a symptom of being depressed . This keeps coming back to the same answer start today by trying to get an appointment with your GP even if you have to wait an hour to get through.
Don't give up waiting just wait and insist on a face to face appointment as soon as possible.
When you do get an appointment don't hold back even if you break down in tears tell them you are desperate for help.
There is no shame in that

Probably because you’re depressed mate? All the things you’ve described on here (negative thoughts, crying, fear of crowds etc) are pretty typical symptoms of depression. The good thing about that is that they can be dealt with and things can get better.

Mate, please listen to everyone on here that are trying to help you.
The way you are at the moment believe me is not pathetic.
Please go with the advice on here and get yourself professional assistance with this.
@PhilM has very kindly offered to forward contacts that maybe able to help you, you now have to take a step towards getting yourself in a good place.
If you can understand your mental health can be fixed and you can rid yourself of your depression but you now have to take that step forward towards getting the help that you deserve, it's out there go and get it.

I can only echo what others have said, you are not pathetic but someone who is struggling. I speak from experience when I say you have to make the first move. No one can help you if they aren’t aware you have a problem. Please heed the advice on here and get professional assistance. Best wishes ?

Brendon you do this because you are overwhelmed. I very strongly suspect you have a lot going on that's making you depressed. There is though a caveat I believe. That is I strongly believe your probably catastrophising EVERYTHING. Your mental state is not allowing you to look at your over all situation dispassionately. For you Brendon, everything is bad when in all actualities they are not. The problems you are experiencing are NOT insurmountable, they can be addressed but you need help in recognising what you have control over and subsequently can change for the better, and the stuff you can't control. It's not your fault bud, your mind set - " default " button - is set at " everything is s**t in my life, when only some of it is.

You need help in sorting out the wood for the trees, and you need reassurence that things can wait, and don't have to be fixed now. Your mentally unwell so please, no high expectations. Just steady progress, working on the things that matter, there will be stuff that can wait. Get professional help - I think a needs assessment would be good. Someone to work with you and identify what help you need, how urgent do you need it and how to put a plan in place so you get the help you need. Remember bud, no rush, just steady measurable progress and gradually your overall " picture " will improve. I hope this helps bud and makes sense. Take care.

Spot on Spotty (Pun intended) great post mate, I'm not an expert in this field but I think you have sized up the situation correctly, problems no matter how trivial are definitely magnified when you're in a depressive state.
