So very sorry to read this. I hope your memories of your wonderful Dad are a comfort. Sending best wishes.Dad died today. So surreal. Respect to everyone else in the same boat. X
So sorry the news isn’t better. Will keep you in my thoughts. Best wishes.Thank you all for the kinds words! Sadly we were told today that it's the same sort of cancer that she had cut out of her lungs last January. Her recent thoracic CTs have apparently been clear so they're going to do a thigh to head PET scan in two weeks. Also will be scheduled for Gamma Knife radiation. Mixed news as it's good it's not a Glioblastoma (GBM) but if it's metastatic that's not good either. Will have to wait and see on her PET scan. The brain tumor that was removed was alot larger than the lung nodule she had taken out last year
I hope your raising a glass or two for your dad tonight and remembering the good times you had together.Quite surreal. First ever day in earth without my dad. Just blessed I'm 45.
My gf is really struggling with work atm, her manager is absolutely terrible - for eg, she said she was struggling to sleep with the stress of work and he said he had a bad night sleep cos he nearly ran over a badger(?). He wasn't joking as well. It's by far the worst I have ever seen her over 15 years
I suggested she goes to the docs to see if she can get signed off for two weeks but as most she said she'd feel bad and doesn't know if it's possible. she probably should have gone weeks ago but has been putting it off, is getting signed off a quick thing for doctors to do?

Think so. Guy I worked with a few years back got 6 months off with stress and it felt almost instant that he was in then wasn't.
Probably, sounds like putting a plaster over the real problem though mate, can she not try speaking with HR?

My mum was signed off a few months back after having a fall, got signed off by the GP straight away and just had to send in the note to work, was fairly simple stuff from memory.
I had a mate signed off for depression a while back and that was similar as well so she should be alright mate, might give her the breathing space she needs to relieve the stress and assess things.
I was signed off sick off and on for over two years when I had all the crap I had going on in work.
Other than having to drop the note into work, it was straightforward.
This day scares the hell out of meQuite surreal. First ever day in earth without my dad. Just blessed I'm 45.
