Discussion & help on depression & mental health related issues

Been away for a few months from here. It's done me good to be honest. Still not 100%, probably 80-90%, but I'd rather that than 120% one day and 20% the next. Middle ground is where it's at.

Hope everyone is well and if not getting the treatment and love they need and deserve.
Hello, welcome back. Glad you're feeling good. I agree- middle is the new extreme :)

Had a few cans last night and got a decent 6 hours sleep so have felt a bit better today. Not my preferred long term method but I'll make sure it doesn't happen often. Got a fairly torrid day lined up tomorrow so not expecting much sleep. But I'll try to be NEA about it. I've reignited my career change plans tonight which were going quite well up until the injury. Trying to give myself things to look forward to.
"Whatever gets you through the night".

Got my first counselling session on Friday. Quite nervous about it but I know that it's a positive step

Anyone else been? What were your experiences? I'm probably being irrational but I'm worried that the counsellor might try to push me to do things I'm not ready for yet.

Your first one will be nothing more than introductions and probably filling in a tick box assessment that gives the councillor an idea of where you are on the scale.

I can't remember the name of the assessment, but it has a fancy name.

It's a settling in session mate, nothing to worry about ;)

There will be no family reunion for me. My wife (or now ex-wife) told me we are not together anymore. Without any explanation. So easy for her. After 13 years of marriage and with 2 beautiful kids.
I just can't handle it...

FFS, no warning ?

Are you in a position to go back home and try to sort things out ?

I know that may be easier said than done

Firstly she said even if I will be back, we are not together anymore. Simple as that.
Secondly I don't know how safe I will be there.
And finally I will shut the door for myself to the UK forever. That's the law for the political refugees.
I really don't know what to do...
