But there are people on here who think we should keep him,he will be 40 end of next season ffs,thank you and goodbye .
 
Also, Distin has always needed a steadying presence next to him.

Remember when we had Yobo at the back with him? Those games have shortened my life expectancy by a few months
 

Read some where perhaps on here that the move to WHU fell through as agreement could not be reached on length of contract! Seems like to me Distin was after say 3 years but WHU were only offering 1/2 years at best.

If he wants 3 years at his next club he's going to really struggle to find one.
 

Not everyones cup of tea especially the age issue, but i feel Buzz deserves alot more respect than he is getting, he is in prime condition for his age, i dont remember weir, gough or stubbs being a dedicated athlete just wise old heads. I feel that a poor pre season meant he didnt get pushed as much as he may of needed. At 35-36-37 you need a really tough pre season to get going again, lets be honest last pre season was a joke.

I also feel whilst his performances arent great this year, it may be more down to a falling out with Martinez, he commands respect and is a key figure in the dressing room apparantly. Considering we lost Lescott (who lets be fair is missed, with jagielka we looked solid) and signed buzz when he was 31 i think, he has served us well. Top professional.
 
Surely off. Alcaraz starting ahead of him while he plays in the u21 league.

He will leave. Then, we only have Jags and Stones as CB. Martinez will surely give his love child Alcaraz a new contract. We need at least another CB next season.
 
Far too old now for where we want to be. The only player he can partner and not look woeful is Stones. Distin and Jagielka were painful together. Equally Distin had a decent partnership with Heitinga as well. For me although he waa a decent signing for the money and he's given us good service, he was another big game bottler and relied far too much on his pace rather than positioning (probably why he looked good next to natural defenders like Heitinga and Stones but not a fellow recover defender in Jagielka). With Browning and Galloway kicking their heels we can't allow Distin to block their way. Just look at how Stones has flourished when finally made first choice.
