Maybe it is taken him so long to sign 'cause he is looking for more off the board in terms of money for the grass roots of the club and not just his own personal greed.
He is an ambitious man and doesn't want to stay at a club that will not match his ambition.

I cant agree more with that statement mate. I cant ever see Moyes ever giving up while he is contracted to Everton and we'll always move forward with him in charge, maybe not quick enough for some fans, but generally we havent gone backwards with him in charge.

Fantastic news DM to sign. Apparently he's been on SSN this pm saying same thing and also that after he signs is the time to discuss why the delay. Perhaps we will find out something of whats been going on.

Was thinking, by now the "bumper" contract must have been dependent on progress in UEFA cup so presumeably contains suitably revised terms now.

No wonder he looked gutted in the dugout last night.

I suspect the delay is primarily caused by "change of ownership" clauses in his contract, ie what happens if the club is sold to a new owner.

If, and it's a big if, a new owner is lurking, they would be keen not to have to pay out on the rest of Moyes' contract should he wish to leave. I suspect Kenwright was not to keen either as a potential £17 million liability will clearly eat into whatever price he hopes to achieve for the club.

Moyes on the other hand, would certainly wish for that option.
