Do you get depressed after an ale binge?

I've installed an app which tells me how much I save from not drinking on a daily basis.

Day 1. A new start and a new me.
You'll probably feel a whole lot better just by cutting back from daily to once or twice a week mate. Been there myself - the cumulative effect of drinking daily, even if it's not a skin full, really does hit you physically and mentally after a while.

I am simply going to bin the drinking full stop mate.

When I drink Friday I then drink Saturday and then Sunday. Then probably midweek and a Thurs when we are playing.

It's a bit all or nothing with me. I am a much nicer, calmer person when I don't drink too.

Completely off booze now mainly because of "The Fear" the next day. Just the thought of being out blind drunk till 4am makes me feel sick.

Get a bit sick of mates calling me soft when i won't go out for a beer though. Ringing them at 7am just to deliberately wake them up and enjoy their hungover voices is fun though lol

This is the thing to remember. The next day, when your head is clear and you don't feel anxious, and you have loads of energy and can actually go for a long walk or run. That's when not drinking is worth it.

I hope I can stay away from it for months and not get swayed by "oh come on just a few beers tonight, just a one off."

I've been that way for 9 years now. All that energy and productivity snowballs from week to week and it has visible results on your life as a whole. The longer you go without drinking, the easier it will get.
