Do you get depressed after an ale binge?

I find drinking german wheat beer doesnt give me a hangover even if i have 7/8 pints of it and it tends to b just under 6%, where if i have the same number of pints of carling at 4% im dying the next day, strange.

Proper German Wheat beer uses pure ingredients - hence no / less hangover.

Carling is rammed full of chemicals just to make it taste of something - massive hangover.

Stella is worse.

Ale, dont drink lager cant stand the stuff but im fine next day. Give me white wine or bubbles when im at the racing im like a bloody zombie the next day.

Definitely - the quality of the stuff you're drinking has a direct impact. I can put away three or four big bottles of Brewdog Punk IPA on a Saturday night, and that equals close to 15 units in one go. But the mix of quality ingredients and no contamination from dirty pumps and glasses means nothing more than a slight grogginess next day, and nothing that a decent breakfast doesn't sort out.

don't drink ale other than Guinness every now and again, haven't for years and now tastes to chemically or my likening, wish it as a bit smoother as its refreshing in the sunshine.

Lads stop being Tory over Carling and similar beers. Get that Camra card and lash it out the window along with your cardigan and virginity you woodbine smelling ale snobs.
No one needs a camra card any more. They won.

Like others there's a massive difference between out on the ale and in on the ale for me. Don't know what it is but pub ale weighs heavy on me - something like guinness crushes lifeforce despite not being especially alcoholic.

I'd much rather pay more for my beer knowing it's premium quality in good surroundings.

The deadly trio Carling, Carlsberg and Fosters belong down the drain. I'd rather drink dirty dishwater.
I only drink Peroni and Tyskie. Wouldn't touch Carling with a barge pole, it's rank.

Saying all that, I am off the beer for the foreseeable. The hangovers, depression, anxiety, expense and weight gain just isn't worth it for a few hours of fun.
