Do you get depressed after an ale binge?

It isn't a game changer, but drinking bottles might be worth trying. I found that I was just trying to keep pace with lads of a better constitution than me. Now I drink one bottle for every one of their pints and I'm in much better condition by the end of the night and in the morning. Haven't had a hangover in months.

I do something similar when out with mates :

Always get the first round in and drink it slowly. No one usually moans when you duck out of their round.

Rinse and repeat until they're all leathered, by then they don't care.

It's worked for me for years ;)

I usually have to take a Zantac tablet for heartburn if I have a good session. If I forget to bring them I drink sensibly but have terrible heartburn.

I quite like the 0% beers that are starting to get better these days, the Heineken is spot on, not tried the San Miguel yet but Brewdog Nanny state is the best, quite dear for what it is but does feel like you're having a beer, they help in the week when you sit down after tea and doing all your stuff just to unwind.

Aye, it's a very nice middle ground. Enjoy a few beers, watch your friends get utterly bladdered and talk wham.

Went to town on Saturday at 2pm, hit some great pubs:

  • Philharmonic
  • Fly in the Loaf
  • The Crown
  • Doctor Duncans
  • Ship and Mitre
  • Lady of Mann
Got the 10pm train, chippy walking home. At 34 the days of 3am clubs are a memory, simply doesn't appeal to me anymore even though I am newly divorced, single and ready to mingle.

I'm defo getting old and it's great. No depression for me yesterday just a clear head and memories of a bloody good day out with my pals.

Mate, I am very envious.
Proper pubs those.
Nothing to compare to them where I am in Hull, a few try, but not good enough.

very similar , one night on the beer and am ok apart form the hangover !, two nights on it and by sunday feel wierd so dont do it any more

...I like a drink but I'm a social drinker in that I have a session with my pals every Saturday and with the family when the kids are home. I've never suffered depression after a binge unless the Blues get beat.
Well I had my most recent binge last Thursday and I've been felling a bit depressed ever since.

I started drinking bottles a few years back. Problem is the lower alcohol lagers then taste like gnat piss and you get a taste for the stronger lager like Pieroni. So if I do have 2 or 3 pints now I end up half shot.
