Show me Onana, McNeil, Iwobi and Gray's numbers and tell me they are a patch on Osman, Pienaar, Arteta, Fellini, Cahill et al

You are chatting absolute wham bars here mate.

It's not unreasonable that you think the manager could be getting more out of the players we have but to say with such confidence that this is our most talented group of players in the last 20 odd years is just categorically incorrect.
Individually put those players up against their like for likes and our current players would beat them besides Arteta (we don’t have a player like him at that level (maybe garner one day)).

This is off purely the eye test but each generation get more and more skillful and just because those teams in the past have done better doesn’t mean those players were better. Based off the eye test the players we have today are more capable of higher difficulty actions and plays than those we’ve had in the past.

This all still comes back to the coaching for me and how we are still nowhere near the potential of the players and the players abilities are being used in a way that augments each other

Don't want him sacked but he HAS to start doing better even in the basics of attacking and tactics if he doesn't after this break and the window, no matter how much he gets us or how much I want one manager to stay long enough to rebuild us then he will have to go.

If Vitor Pereira had been appointed in January and had won 9 and lost 17 league games out of 33 played, I doubt there would be a poll on here with 78% saying they wanted to keep him.

When Lampard was appointed Everton were 16th, 4 points off the drop zone. We finished 16th, 4 points off the drop zone so we’ve just treaded water under him.

Last season Brighton were playing good football creating and missing loads of chances each game, ironically Maupay was the one doing most of the missing. But we haven’t even got a style of play under Lampard.

I get the “we can’t keep sacking managers” argument but this guy isn’t the answer and he’s done nothing as a manager that suggests he’s going to improve us.
Whilst I agree to some extent you can't say we treaded water, we were sinking like a stone when he came in we won one in fourteen and we were up and down, he tried to play pressing style, and that's what I suspect he would like to play in an ideal world, but we were getting pummelled so he went more solid and counter attacking to stay up. Also again the squad was a mess and still has issues regardless who the manager is. We had to sell Richy/DCL is never fit, we are having to rely on Gray and Gordon who are inconsistent. Yes I have big questions of Lamps in terms of style of play and tactics and some results although the defence has improved, but is that enough to sack him? Not yet for me given the squad still needs more and he's had one window . I agree he needs to show more of what we are building towards and improve fast. Or it will come time...

I think we could be getting a bit more out if this squad with a better set up and maybe coaching but this current squad is miles off the attacking and creativity of that Moyes team, we played seasons without genuine frontmen yet still ground teams down and had players like Cahill, Arteta, Pienaar, Fellaini and Mirallas who could make the difference. Pretty much any one of those would be the first name on the team sheet if they were in today's squad.

He needs to tell the defence to play higher up the pitch, we are so deep it's ridiculous. The centre backs are acting like a goalkeeper but can't use hands and have to make loads of blocks! This is why we are getting out shot every game in my opinion.

The one game where we stepped up the pitch was Palace with Coady and Tarkowski both nipping infront of their forwards intercepting on the half way line which starting our attacks way higher up the pitch and we won 3-0.

So in a tight position we are in with FFP he took these 2 which will cost in excess of £30m will regulate further spending knowing they are ?. Some manager you are backing there!

I think a good result against Wolves keeps him in a job, whether we will or not I`m not so sure but then I don`t think we will get results v City, Brighton and West Ham which means Southampton will be critical, that will be 20 games played.

After 20 games last season we have 19 points, that was all of the Rafael era and after Duncans 1 game, he needs in excess of 5 points from them 5 games, anything less and he could have no complaints whatsoever about getting the bullet....

FYI no other manager in our history or any other manager at any PL club in the country get the backing Lampard does at present for what he has shown, our fans deserve everything we get....
This in a nutshell. Anyone would think he was an Everton legend, not a Chelsea one. The issue is that the majority of people have a very tunnel vision mentality. They just see it as... we sacked loads of managers, we can't do it again so we simply have to stick with one. They are totally ignoring the facts that support that this manager is arguably our worst in premier league history.

I have absolutely no doubt whatsoever that Lampard will be a pundit and will be on ITV punditry for the next Euros in 2 years and getting asked questions on why he thought his managerial career failed. Why on earth are supposedly clever people who are running the club wasting time supporting this managerial Gary Neville/Steven Gerrard version 2.

Give the job to Dyche, stop putting the clubs future in doubt and let him build a half decent team for the new stadium.

I think l the difference in level between Frank and Moyes when setting up a tactical approach and providing a the team with a way to get the ball forward is still understated. 3 managers that grace the bottom of the list for goals for are Big Sam, Rafael, and Frank with all of them playing a similar sit deep and counter style of play with no real guidance to the team towards how we should attack after that

People seem to forget how good Fellaini was. He could do everything Onana can right now plus score 10 goals a season and have freakishly effective chest control. That’s no offence to Onana either, he could be class one day but Fellaini really was for about 3 seasons.

Then compare Cahill to Maupay both running hard, hassling defenders, getting on the end of things… the difference? 10 goals a season for Cahill.

Where are we getting 15-20 goals from in our midfield or attack outside of permanently injured Dom? That’s the problem.
