One thing that doesn't get talked about enough is the bum deal in squad composition he was handed after the Brands debacle.

He has the likes Gomes, Mina and Gbamin pulling 31.3 mill out of the club A YEAR in wages and fees - with no contribution to the team, squad or club. Thats before you look at Dele which isn't on Brands - still so much waste.

Its a big job to try and build within tight financial margins, given the bad decisions that have preceded him, he hasn't come into the job with a clean slate, its a work in progress turning this squad around and working with the depleting factors of the financial impact of poor deals that have preceded him as above and having to manage that. Thelwell to.

Its actually a scandal, the money some players are taking out of this club for their contribution - the architect all right.
Kenwright is and always has done the actual player negotiations when it comes to signings, even now Thelwell only identifies targets then has to report to a special 'Technical board' made up of Blue Bill and DBB who complete the actual discussion part of it. Any issues with contracts and fees need to directed towards the worlds greatest evertonian.

They didn't make an offer for Kudus they could refuse is the way I'd see it. The valuation for B-D as we can now see was fair. We missed out there. False economy.

The point being that Lampard can be trusted with cash to get a decent forward in January.
We did to the point the lad went on strike over it, had United walked away from the Antony deal, we’d have completed it, as it was Ajax refused to sell both

Two Dutchman ruined this club: Koeman and Brands. They not only spent disastrously, they destroyed the indentity of the club.

That's why I couldn't get behind the detemined effort to get Benitez out early - and certainly now with Lampard it's ridiculous. That feller came in and got us safe. He's earned time here to get it right. Some supporters need to get a grip and see the big picture.

Then all the more reason to get the Brereton-Diaz deal over the line. There was just no urgency. They thought that they could do this season on the cheap with DCL staying fit. THEY are responsible for Everton being 4th from bottom - the board - not so much Lampard.

I mean does any of that negate my point of "we made 4/5 really good chances"? Which at the end of the day is the aim of the game. For all of Celtics possessions and shots they had like 2 good chances from what we showed on the extended highlights.
Disclaimer; it was a hot day and many expensive re-hydration aids were consumed.

The highlighted in bold does not fit the overall 'Vibe' of the game we watched... (I'm not even sure you could apply it to the whole of November tbh.)

Celtic played...or we let them play...against us in a Bournemouth-esque (e.g. better) manner - minus the 7 goals obvs, because the SPL is even gasher than Bournemouth.

All the 'factors', aka, excuses, that Might be made for Everton...and by extension maybe Lampard.
Travel, jet lag, the heat, the grass, reduced squad - whatever, applied to Celtic as well - yet they made a better fist of it than we did.

Does a few people's view on how one game went reflect on Lampard, does it effect his position, should it?
Should we keep on sacking managers?
Should we stick with Lampard?
If so, how long for?
My considered view is sackings haven't worked.
Nobody knows if sticking will, not me, not you, Lampard or even Moshiri.
Too early to tell.

It seems that from latest reports cash might be hard to come by.
The latest reports???? Cash has been hard to come by for the last couple of years thanks to the club throws Moshiri's money in all the wrong places.

I don't know what the final asking price was for Ben B-D but we'd definitely be in a better position now if we'd paid it however the reality is that we probably didn't have the money. Personally I'd have taken the £50-60m offered for Gordon and spent it on a goal scorer. Maybe they'll do that in January.

It's the only explanation as to why Lampard (who had the nous to look to Kudus and Brereton-Diaz) could have been handed McNiel to replace Richarlison. That Burnley 'legal case' went away pretty quickly once that deal had been done.

Dave,

You`ve been doing really well lately, please lets not slip back into tinfoil hat territory again.

We wanted Cornet, but Burnley wanted cash up front, so we went for option B, McNeill on instalments.

For what it`s worth, Cornet hasn`t played a game for the Hammers for nearly 2 months now, due to an injury.

Brands - yes. Koeman- no. Koeman got results but going the nostalgic route with an alcoholic Rooney (probably thanks to Kenwright) could only be a disaster. He wasnt helped with the rest of the set up. PH teacher playing director of football LOL. Lampard getting us safe, its to crazy for words. One man (Richarlison) and the pressure of the crowd to perform over the usual 10% got us safe despite of Lampard and not because of Lampard.

Then all the more reason to get the Brereton-Diaz deal over the line. There was just no urgency. They thought that they could do this season on the cheap with Dominic Calvert-Lewin staying fit. THEY are responsible for Everton being 4th from bottom - the board - not so much Lampard.
Fans got this club safe and a fair effort from the odd player like Pickford.

This was despite lampards limited managerial ability.

Very naive.

Our club was already ruined well before the Dutchmen arrived.
The Moores family began the rot by failing to curate a transition from their ownership to someone who could maintain Everton as a club capable of competing for titles.
And Kenwright for taking decades too long to find a buyer and embarking on an extended period of benign neglect.
