He's lucky.

He's had the easiest runs in tournaments you could get.

He's also lucky to have a crop of players who are among the best in the world in their position.

He's also lucky that there's been a visible slump in talent in many of the top nations which have coincided with his reign

He's got no tactical awareness, he's terrified to make a sub.

All his achievements are because if the players not him.

So, no. He deserves more

Easiest run possible to the final.

See, the luck of this man is incomprehensible

When we inevitably go out in the quarters or semis he will blame the fans for creating a toxic environment and scaring the players too. Can’t stand the guy, the definition of a fraud and a blagger.

His victim mentality is strong enough to rub off on the squad from the interviews I've heard. It's mad to think he's got a bit of a saviour complex aswell.

Weird combination which results in a low block and no shots

I think he definitely deserves respect for previous tournaments but he is ballsing this one up majorly.

Like with a lot of players and managers, when there is no pressure they have a free shot and that relaxed nature will be passed onto the players. Yes, it was not the most exciting football, but it was effective football and you could see the change in atmosphere around the team and fans.

Now, the spine of the team is more developed, the team are expected to do well. Southgate seems to have totally lost the plot and gone ultra defensive. I would not necessarily say previous tournaments were very defensive, it was just that they had a solid base. When the likes of Saka, Rashford, Sterling, & Kane got on the ball they were allowed to attack. In this tournament the attacking players have been stunted to the nth degree.

Palmer was the only one who really bucked that trend. Probably a reason why I would not be surprised if he doesn't start in the next game.

In the last Euros they were very negative in the group stage and then opened things up in the KO matches. So if you were very optimistic you might hope that is what's going on here

It’s a shame he wasn’t appointed Manchester United manager before the tournament. Announcing this as ‘his last dance’……

The optics and pure entertainment value on that up to now would have been scrumptious….

Can’t take away the WC semi and Euro final even though both are viewed by many as missed opportunities.
Both were missed opportunities but the failure to beat Italy from the position we were in was nothing short of criminal.

Southgate is nothing but a yes man for the FA and has wasted the talent of some super players
