Does Rooney now deserve a bit more respect?

Rooney did the smart thing in leaving EFC, not the loyal thing and now my take on that affair was how little our Chairman got for the best English player since Gascoigne. I too sense that he would like to come back but we really need a decent team to entice him back and while our Chairman is still in charge that aint going to happen.

When he scored the first they'd only equalised so he just wanted to get on with it as they needed to win. When he scored his second he celebrated like a bell.

If he plays for us again great. But whilst he is someone elses player I dont see why we should treat him any differently.
 
There is no doubting that he still loves everton. He's won everthing there is win on the domestic stage (UEFA cup is kinda superseded by the champions league) & I think he wold still have ambitions to win a trophy with Everton.

Is 2015 right Foxy? Would that make the lad 29?
 
someone needs to get into his ear and tell him winning 1 trophy will mean so much more to him than his whole united collection. use to hate him, only in the last couple of years its started not to bother me, the badge kissing stuff was just utterly stupid, but that's the kind of guy he is. He will obviously have to run his contract down rather than us actually paying a fee for him, tbh, he has enough money and has won enough silverware to retire from club football. Doubt he'll come back before he's 30 though, depends on how long whisky nose is staying, reckon they'll both leave united at a similar time, lets hope he wants to finish his career with his real love rather than trying to hack it in spain or italy.

Still can't get my head around how we managed to get a similar fee for lescott as we did him

lookin forward to it already. when he was playing he was everton. nice........... ps i think we killed him with love when he was here. overwhelming. and the expression on his face when he scored THAT goal is etched on my brain
