Are there any dog breeds that are suitable for working people living in a flat?

Sometimes I feel like I'd like to get a dog but I live in a 80 square metre flat and 2 days a week I have to go to the office so I'm gone for about 10 hours on those days. Also I like to go out and socialise 2-3 times a week.

Are there any dog breeds you can get for which it wouldn't be cruel to leave them alone for that long in a relatively small flat?

A greyhound

Sleep for about 20 hours a day, maybe more

Ex racers are used to being kennelled

Only want a couple of walks around the block a day

She is mate, mad as a box of frogs too, as you can imagine from a 6 month old pup inexhaustible energy.

I have been there so many times over the past 50 years of owning cats and dogs. It is so hard but if the dog is so ill that nothing can be done then you are actually being kind.
