All the XL bullies on the Wirral and seal it off for a year before going back and seeing who’d won. My money is on a superfeeder evolving to scran all the dogs out of sheer hunger.

Birkenhead already have a super feeder don’t they ???

we've currently got two, both rescue dogs and both soft as shabbite. Neither have shown any aggression to people, just squirrels and pigeons.

If I got any dog it would be a Rottweiler. Lovely lovely animals..

Licencing is the way. For breeding at the very least, and actually for all breeds imo. Ownership and breeding licencing for at least bigger, more powerful breeds would be far more effective than any ban has ever been.
The XL Bully was never bred for fighting. in fact, every effort was made to breed the prey drive out and for it to be a gentle giant, which the vast majority still are today. Lockdown did this breed and some others absolutely no favours. Every knobhead scally and their mates trying to make a quick £10k, with little or no care taken to preserve the temperament of the breed.
Licenses weren't policed well enough when they tried it before and that's where the government need to direct efforts and resources. But alas, the Tories (and media) will always try and push for the action that is cheapest and most dramatic, whilst banning breeds as NEVER solved the problem of people breeding and owning dogs with little or no intention or ability to train any dog properly.
Ban the XL Bully and arseholes who want a "hard" dog will just move on to the Cane Corso or Presa Canario or whatever other dog that's capable of easily killing people.

I'm fairly sure they're all banned already aren't they? And the Argento one and South African one etc etc..

Cane Corso and Presa Canario aren't banned in this country. Dogs Argentino, Fila Brasilia and Tosa Inu are though.

Edit: just checked and I'm actually wrong about this. There are no banned breeds in the UK, just certain "types".

I've got a friend who had a Cane Corso, it was one of the gentlest dogs I've ever met. An absolute dope. They are so big and strong though.

Quite funny though, she's got a Jack Russell now.

They can be cat friendly, one of ours was, the cats weren't so friendly and used to beat up the rottie, she was too thick to realise and used to keep going back for more. Ace dogs

Our cats would not be happy at all if we got a dog. We did try to introduce a new cat with them a few months a go but it went badly. So the new cat had to go..

Mate had a Rotty. It was bullied by cats. Will be fine, especially if it's brought up with them.

Cats like a strop. They get over it. Ours had her nose put out of joint when we took our hound in. But they're fine now. Steals his basket for one.

I see the genius Sunak and his popularity knee jerkers have moved to outlaw XL bullies... but first need to define exactly what they are as there is no real definition.
