Dogs are like guns. Can be deemed as safe in the hands of the right owner, but an XL bully is like giving a loaded RPG to Billy at No 34.

I have a Kerry Blue Terrier, he's more like an Assualt Rifle with the safety on.
An issue as well is that pretty much any dog can get freaked out by something in the spur of the moment. With the best will in the world and excellent training there's still something very risky about owning a dog bred with such an emphasis on strength and bite power.

Especially when there are pretty much zero restrictions on breeding which has resulted in many dogs with undesirable genetic propensities outside of fighting.

At around 11pm on Monday 15 May 2023, two XL Bully dogs escaped from an insecure garden and ran onto the street before attacking a woman aged in her 20s.

Neighbours who heard the victim’s screams came rushing out to help the woman and emergency services were called to the scene.

The attack, which lasted for around seven minutes, resulted in the woman sustaining life-changing injuries to her arms and hands.

but some have had them before the ban or they’ve become fearsome

any dog can bite

you do know it’s labrador’s with the most bites in the uk?

bet not!
Aye Matty, but they’re a lot more common. At a guess, if you were to check which dog breed is disproportionately responsible for most violent attacks, XL bullies would be top or very close.
There is absolutely no need for anyone to own this sort of dog except dealers and men with small willies.

they aren’t for me atall and the look of them is even scary - but the ones i know are very friendly

but wrong hands these are a weapon
Mate - i have been adopting, fostering and rehoming dogs for 20 years, you should never ever fully trust any dog. A dog may well be bred for fighting or defending, any dog can turn on anyone at any time, even the “friendly ones”. I’ve seen it with my own eyes how a dog can turn just because they have the instinct.

They are domesticated by humans, I love dogs and hate to see these ones demonised, but these are dangerous dogs and can turn at any time.
