Think he is a bit stuck at the moment. As Is davies. Silva clearly likes them and wants them in the squad but at the same time, is trying to protect them. We are crying out for a striker but silva isn’t starting th DCL. If he did, he would be the weakest spot in the team and our fan base would be on his back immediately. Both davies and dcl played a lot last season and have had the fans at them. I’d argue dcl could be coming on more instead of when tosun does but silva is trying to change the way we play. Tosun does that whereas dcl is similar to Richie up top, chases it, holds it up. So tactics are similar. Think him and davies will both get their chances and it will benefit them more this way.

DCL will become a very good striker in my opinion...

He has all the attributes to become an absolute menace to premiership defenders...

We have a potential star in this lad he is improving every year & is still only 21...

We must continue to support & nourish his talent to reap the benefits in the years to come...

Based on what?

I think, to be quite honest, we all hope he will become a player, based on nothing at all really.

The reality is that he will probably be back playing for Sheff Utd at some point, but hey ho, it wont stop us dreaming.

Apart from the goal scoring bit, and the falling over bit
 
I'm not quite as convinced as @marcus , but I do think he's a very useful player to have in the squad.

I don't get why some of our fans have this weird hatred of him. He's a young lad who has done well for us when needed and has done more than any of us expected so far. He's a good option to have and that's fine for where he is right now.

He's just not a player to get fans excited. I see his attributes, coming on and making a nuisance of himself but his all round game in terms of technique and goal scoring ability isn't good enough for the top 10 of the league.
