Why League 1?? Why not Championship? Or like, lower premier league?

If everyone who was allegedly "League 1 at best" was playing in League 1 there would be about 1000 teams.

Because I read on a previous page, that Calvert-Lewin had found his level when he scored in the Carabao cup. So it was fitting, seems to be a common theme on these forums that if a fella ain't up to someones dinkies scratch that they are at league 1 level.
 
..surprises me that folk know what level a youngster will end up playing at. I wouldn’t have a clue myself, but I know if DCL was up for sale their would be plenty of Premiership managers bidding for him, including some teams higher than us in the pecking order.

It also wouldn’t surprise me if this fella ends up as our first choice CF given the competition he’s up against. Apparently he missed a few chances for young England last night and that is the major issue for him at this point in time.

..said on radio he missed a couple in the first half, but he wasn’t alone in that. I presume he was substituted but whoever came on also failed to hit the mark.

..Arsenal under Wenger were strongly linked a while ago. I think some would already see him as a useful squad member with the potential to be something more. Clearly much would depend on the price, but I’m sure there would be plenty of interest from Premiership clubs.

The Reds took a punt on Solanke and I would think DCL is above him in the pecking order.
 

DCL is going nowhere, he is our treasure & is not for sale....

Could be playing as our striker soon if Cenk does not slot...

He has had a promising start this season & will go on to score 10+ goals & continue to develop into a top striker....

I could name a lot of players to have played for England and then disappeared,sometimes players are pushed in to these u/21 u/23 teams and then full side to see if you have got it and lots dont,rodwell for instance.
