That’s because his movement in and around the box isn’t good enough.

We need accurate crosses for him TBH he only played the CF role towards the end of the run in he spent a lot of early games on the wing -BUT he needs to have a killer instinct or all his good work is coming to nothing - the jury's out on him imo....

Not a goalscorer mate, played enough and had enough sniffs of goal and doesn't have the positioning for it. Works hard and is a nuisance which helps others but cant lead the line for a top 6 team.

Your stat said 6 goals in 35 games, which indeed sounds rubbish and "proves" that DCL is rubbish.

My stat said 6 goals in 1776 minutes - oh look that's less than 20 full games, which sounds a lot different to yours, and would actually suggest his goal return was not too bad for a young striker without much experience of leading the line. So I've just "proved" that he isn't all that rubbish and might be worth keeping around.

You see, same stats but completely different outlook. A good statistician can use data to prove exactly whatever the hell they want*, so let's not pretend that stats can end any argument.





*Except Sandro. No stats can prove he is a footballer.

6 goals in 35 (or 20 starts) is a terrible record whatever way you look at it, but ultimately it’s not the stats that “prove” anything. Simply watching him for a season is more than enough proof that he will never lead the line for a top 6 club and is a backup at best

Really Coleman's a great player,but his crossing is sometimes woeful

Which would be fine if he was a striker who was excellent at bringing others into play,

But he really isn’t .

Could substitute striker for his nuisance value and his pace and strength but unless both wingers and the number 10 can pick up his goal shortfall can never be first choice. That said one day it might click for him and he might increase his out put but next season we definitely someone else as first choice.
