Here’s a little tip, if you are using facts as the basis for an opinion you should ensure those facts are correct otherwise your opinion is seriously flawed and lacks veracity. It can therefore be disregarded as worthless.
(Did you pick up on my condescending tone? If not , just to be clear, I was being condescending.)
There’s nothing to dispute here

If you admire his “all round game” then I can’t imagine how you would react if you saw a genuinely world class all round striker like Benzema for example
Funny that ex-top strikers like Wright and Shearer who normally don't give us the time of day, raved about him after the games v United and Arsenal, but I'll take your word every time.

Granted he played well in those games, but they don’t watch him week in week out. I’m sorry he’s not at the required level to push us into the top 6.

But they do,or don't you watch MOTD,the format is,weekly highlights then they comment.
I'm not suggesting for a moment he should be our starting CF,but it's horses for courses in games where teams like to play it from the back his pressing is very useful and if Richarlison keeps scoring from DCL pressuring defenders into mistakes I for one am happy.and how much did he cost again? posters slag him off as if he cost 15m plus.

Exactly my point and the reason we won’t crack the top 6 unless a reliable 15-20 season goalscorer is brought in.

Calvert-Lewin improved with every game last season. His goal return for time on the pitch was very respectable.
His all round performances were exemplary.
He did lack composure at times in front of goal but the important fact was that he regularly found goal scoring opportunities, the composure will arrive as he gains more experience, I have no doubt of this.
He is the type of player who absolutely suits Silva’s style of football, and given the way he progressed last season it would be a surprise if he doesn’t start the coming season as first choice.
I also suspect he will be handed the no. 9 shirt, which should cheer his detractors up immeasurably during preseason.
I’m looking forward to it.

And my point is people want rid. It's a team game and in some games we'll need a DCL type player, not a pure finisher wating around for chances that never come. And this 15-20 goal (guaranteed) striker that we can afford will be found where? And to crack the top 6 you need to beat top 6 teams, think on who his better performances were against.

I agree with your point about his all round game improving significantly, that there is no doubt. But to me he just doesn’t look a natural goalscorer and therefore imo isn’t the man to push us in to the next level.

We got one with Rom, yes it’s the hardest position to fill in the team I grant you and they don’t come cheap. So what’s the alternative is it settle for second best with DCL.

I'm sure we'll bring in another striker, but will he hit the ground running and score 15-20? Silva has a plan to win matches, that worked against three top 6 teams late in the season (one that won a European trophy),will it work this season? It's all the fun of the fair!
