2018/19 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Reminds me of anichebe. Everyone hoping the goals will come and blaming it on playing out of position, not enough starts etc. Fact is he isn't good enough. He's 21 and has not shown that raw talent that gets you excited. He's older than rashfotd but nowhere near his standard. Can't think of many good players who weren't showing signs at that age.

And United fans are pretty underwhelmed by Rashford... Imagine if they had Calvert-Lewin starting up front.

Some absolute balderdash chat on here...

Truth is DCL will learn & develop from these games & become a better player...

Truth is we do need better strikers if we are to compete seriously in the premiership it stands out a mile...

Truth is we need to score goals when we are on top & we need to defend better for the whole game....

Truth is DCL is and never will be a top Premier League player and should be canned immediately

Truth is mate he was bang average today and is showing he isn’t good enough to take us forward. Simple as that.

3 in 5, are we still counting or it is not convienient anymore?

Gonna update stats on my quote from few weeks ago:

DCL in the PL compared to our previous "promising young forwards":
vaughan 47m 1089min 7g 2a 17-23y
anichebe 48m 1718min 5g 3a 18-21y
DCL 48m 2491 min 6g 7a 20-21y

Lukaku got his first six goals in the PL while on loan in West Brom in 16 appearances, subs mostly. In Everton he scored 6 in 8. The downgrade from the Rom to DCL is so painful that it is actually hard to comprehend.

Let him develop on loan been the same case for 2 season's but it's not happened.

He's not completely crap and useless, he shows signs of decent touches, links up well and is still learning and growing in to his body as seen by how much he's filled out the last 2 years but he has no natural goal scoring instinct and it's inexcusable to be in that position today with that much time and completely get a nose bleed from not having a clue what to do in that situation.

He's no different than Tammy Abraham currently, the difference is Abraham is getting exposure to a lower level each week and gradually learning without pressure, same thing happened with Kane, Alli and the list goes on over the years. We should be doing the same not expecting a 21 year old lad who cost 1.5 million to score goals and lead our attack, no other top 6 side would do that and if we aim to be a top 6 side we need the same mentality with young players, like City, Chelsea and unless the young player is an exceptional talent let them go and learn the game elsewhere.
Don't have expectations for Everton then. We can't be a club that is lenient with youth and wins silverware. The 2 are incompatible.

Just not going to cut it clearly. We need a striker in the quality of an Aubameyang or Lacazette if we want to challenge for the top six places.

Young players need room to grow but we need to say how it is here, this lad is costing us points. We need better quality upfront all round but since Tosun is in really poor goalscoring form, Richarlison should be playing up top. DcL is not ready, if he ever will be, to lead a Premier league front line.

Remember how boss Lukaku was at his age? Players don't magically become good some day just because they're young.
