Indeed, and not only being in the six yard box for the goal but the right place. In the past he’s run across defenders towards our attacker , fine if you’re dragging a defender away, but for him it’s meant he’s marked if a cross comes in. Yesterday he ran behind the defender into space so that when the ball arrived he was free . These are the things you get shown in videos and on the training pitch and he’s clearly absorbing information and learning.

The one thing he seems hopefully to be learning is making good runs into the area. The goal that won it yesterday Richy was running into the area DCL was running with him then pulled off there 2 defenders leaving Richy to cross it and DCL all on his own. He wasn't creating space in the area for himself previous so hopefully he's been working on this and it's coming to fruition

Delighted for DCL and hope he pushes on from here. To play the way we have done in the last few games and get the results with people like Gbamin, Gomes and Delph unavailable has given renewed hope. Does that mean we can subtract all of lewin a goals in the cups over the years ?

As a long term critic of the lad I think it's probably best accepting that his improvement doesn't warrant continued scrutiny of his stats.....

I like a few others on here have stated quite clearly that his impact is far more than just goals that he scores.

If he keeps up this goal scoring malarkey and continues with his developments now that he is being coached properly, we could very well have an excellent striker in our ranks just as Ancelotti says and for very little cost at all.

I agree with you on that point he should be in the England team.

We would need probably 3/4 players of a very high quality and for them all to come in and hit the ground running to have even the slightest chance of top 4

Could have done with Arsenal winning today. Your right it's an absolute longshot probably 6th or 7th is best we can hope for this season. If we can get through the FA Cup 3rd round we also have a chance there.

Was always baffled why so many managers gave him chance after chance, I saw what he offered, but the lack of goals is a BIG minus for a Striker.

2 up top suits him and Rico so much its unreal. Still cant believe we have had 2 managers we have both gone 442, more and more teams seem to be moving away from 4231 these days, I like that things have become a bit more tactical, especially now that we have a manager who is superb at that side.
