8 seasons (in his first spell) and Drogba hit 12 league goals in his 3rd best season...

If Tel is saying DCL is useless then it gives some context to compare a developing player with one of Chelseas all time greatest (or the greatest) premier league centre forward.

Plus its a bit of a laugh.

Drogba was a strange one. Didn’t put up huge numbers for most of his career but his all round game and his performances in big matches were what made him.

DCL is making a name for himself by being a menace (which he is, I heard many Utd fans slating him for “constant fouls” when he was just causing problems) and getting the ball in the net.

His whole career is littered with goals like that mate. Saying DCL can shoot like drogba just isn’t right . I havnt even seen lewin hit a powerful strike from outside the box tbh. His shots are usually very tame and not placed with any sort of accuracy toward the corners

He has improved and since Silva has gone he’s been scoring and everyone can see that. But people being called out as wrong about him because of five games is premature. Drogba comparisons aren’t really relevant either seeing as drogba was immense at holding the ball up extremely well and was always bullying the whole back line. I know he’s only 22 but even in his early days drogba was a massive presence and goals came for him later.

I'm sorry for not explaining my views on DCL correctly. Even if he plays well as you say, he is not good enough for Premiership football, I really don't think
he can either shoot or head to a good standard. We will get nowhere 'mingeing it' with the likes of Tosun etc. We knew 12 months before we lost Lukaku
what was needed, but nothing was done.
