What if it's a purple patch?

That happens too.

DCL is largely the exception, not the rule.

Assuming he goes on to become the finished article and this isn't a purple patch, most top level strikers are accomplished regulars before the age of 22.

Like Didier Drogba who at the age of 23 was playing right back for Le Mans

Or Thierry Henry who's breakout season at Arsenal was at 22-23

That they do but my point is he's not always going to have defenders make mistakes or Keepers taking 5 hours to take a goal kick therefore overtime he'll have to actually show natural finishing ability to consistency be scoring 15-20 every season which I have my doubts that he will.

He's certainly improved but I think some folk need to calm down and wait and see how he does in the next 10 games and next season before labelling him the 2nd coming of Kane.

I certainly do not see him as a Kane mk 11, their styles are very different. But I do think he will improve once we gat a settled tema and not relying on the likes of Siggy, Schneids and Walcott

I wouldnt say its different - DCL was originally a midfielder and you can see that in how he lacks that natural instincts of a finisher like Lukaku or Yakubu etc.

Players mature at different ages - Drogba wasnt smashing teams at 23 whilst Rooney was a freak at 16.

In my experience only the druids gloat im not arsed if im right or wrong on a player or manager - circumstances/form changes all the time look at Siggurdsson this season to last.

Yeah very true. DCL may lack the natural instincts but he does make up for it in other areas.

No coincidence to me that he has pushed on with a bit of support up front. You can cover up the natural instinct a bit more then. He seems to be in the right place at the right time more these days too. Probably because he doesnt have to run the channels etc as well in the current set up.

Where have you got this from, that he was originally a midfielder lol

That hole you`re digging must be pretty deep by now.

the list is endless

lol

As is the list of players who’ve bagged 15-20 in one season and done nothing thereafter.

Which is precisely why I was saying, just hang fire before anyone dives in on the next Harry Kane shouts.

which wasn't your argument. You were saying strikers are the finished article at 22
