It was a superb goal wasn't it.

I loved his 2nd though, he makes a great little darting run expecting a rebound and is justly rewarded. There's load sof goals to be had if you just start sniffing them out and taking chances and that's what he's done.

I'll be honest, I can't believe it. Genuinely amazed.

I mean, the service has been superb recently, but this goal return is about 5 times what I'd ever have dreamed he was capable of.

I'm not exactly ancient, but i can't remember seeing an upward trend in performance quite at this level in another young player. With Lukaku, for example, you knew right well he had it as soon as he walked in the door. Any decent chance, he just gobbled up, from day one. But I'm happy to admit I couldn't see it in DCL for the life of me.

I’ve always liked DCL.

But anyone who says they thought he could do what he has under Ancelotti is fibbing. He’s just unreal.

He's come on massively. Think Ferguson and Ancelotti playing him as a poaching No.9 gave him focus and adding players to feed him has meant he's become really important for us.

He always had pace, strength and workers, but at times he didn't seem like he had a specific role. Playing on the wing and as a target man he looked pretty average. Wasn't long ago he reminded me a lot of Wellbeck.

Great to see him kick on and find the goals.

What im not admitting is that he has always been boss when 2-3 years ago he couldn't control a ball and was scoring about 4 goals a season. Anyone who claims otherwise enjoys rewriting history to troll certain posters.

As I've said im calling Kean boss now and Carlo is a fool not to play him - you'll all see in 2-3 seasons time!

I don’t think anyone thinks he’s always been boss. I think a lot of people were pragmatic about him and his age and his development.
Whereas I think you judged him really early.
