100% this. He's developed so much in the last couple of years. He is the genuine article.
Thats the thing he isn't the genuine article yet he still has loads of development to come. We have a proper striker on our hands here. Never thought I would say them words never in a month of Sundays but wow what he is fast becoming is unreal

he needs a bucket to be sick in....... @ForeverBlue92 lol

He’s 23 mate.
I don’t think anyone thinks he’s always been boss. I think a lot of people were pragmatic about him and his age and his development.
Whereas I think you judged him really early.

The problem was he was our starting CF and wasn't winning us points.

That wasnt his fault and was more down to crap recruitment like not securing Giroud etc but you cant expect fans to worship a player who was bang average just because they were young otherwise people are out of order for criticising Davies.

Exactly. He's still learning. Hopefully now he can do that without the impatient jeers and derision of pasty virgins behind their computers

I'll be honest, I can't believe it. Genuinely amazed.

I mean, the service has been superb recently, but this goal return is about 5 times what I'd ever have dreamed he was capable of.

I'm not exactly ancient, but i can't remember seeing an upward trend in performance quite at this level in another young player. With Lukaku, for example, you knew right well he had it as soon as he walked in the door. Any decent chance, he just gobbled up, from day one. But I'm happy to admit I couldn't see it in DCL for the life of me.
It’s rare for a striker to suddenly go onto a whole other plane like this, I agree. But I do think this has always been in him, we just couldn’t really see it because his role has been so different in the past.

Now, he’s in the team to score - not to run or hold up play.

I kept on telling you a good midfield he would score for fun...
