At one point they had Xavi Iniesta Busquets Alonso Senna Fabregas. I think there was one squad though when Albert Riera got a call up just because he played for Liverpool and Arteta was ten times better than him. Other than that he just had the misfortune of playing at a time when they had some of the best midfielders of all time playing for them.

Must be a proud moment for him.

DCL seems humble enough to keep his down and keep working hard so I hope he keeps his form up. I also hope the players around him keep their form up and keep setting him up, would be a strikers dream having the service he’s getting from all areas of our team.

Looks like we all owe @ForeverBlue92 our undying gratitude. Apparently DCL would have never made it if it were not for FB2s constant criticisms. It seems that those who recognised his talent from the outset were the ones who were holding him back.
Thank you @ForeverBlue92 I hope that Dominic will recognise the huge part you played in his career. lol

I am going to put my hand up and admit that I have slated this lad in the past, I didn’t think he was a goal scorer, Or good enough but he has not only made me eat my words he has taken his game to new levels, I think this is down to Him working hard in the gym and in training as well as having a decent midfield and manager who get the best out of him and play to his strengths, time will tell how high he can go but keep up the good work Dom, from now on you will receive my full support.

Wasn't it because Artetas old man and the then Spain manager hated each other from their playing careers??? That's what I always thought.

Still. With so many international games, and NTs usually calling 6 to 8 midfielders, I would think he would get a few call ups.
