I am going to put my hand up and admit that I have slated this lad in the past, I didn’t think he was a goal scorer, Or good enough but he has not only made me eat my words he has taken his game to new levels, I think this is down to Him working hard in the gym and in training as well as having a decent midfield and manager who get the best out of him and play to his strengths, time will tell how high he can go but keep up the good work Dom, from now on you will receive my full support.

I'll admit I never thought he would quite be good enough to be the main man but did think he was good enough to be our rotation/sub striker. However he has pushed on and he could be the ideal man to lead us to our first trophy in over 25 years.

Looks like we all owe @ForeverBlue92 our undying gratitude. Apparently DCL would have never made it if it were not for FB2s constant criticisms. It seems that those who recognised his talent from the outset were the ones who were holding him back.
Thank you @ForeverBlue92 I hope that Dominic will recognise the huge part you played in his career. lol

Any manager who overlooks a workers weaknesses isn't a good manager - hence why Silva wasn't praised whereas Carlo who has spoken about DCL's need to improve his finishing last season was.

Young players today are given too much too soon - look at the excuses Kean has been given by our fans despite looking completely not arsed most of the time whilst he earns more in a week than most on here do in a year.

The reason why the quality of players worldwide is dropping and why we haven't had any new world class players spring up since Ronaldo/Messi burst onto the scene is because young players aint pushed enough any more - too much ego massaging and no home truths.

Im delighted DCL has proven he has the desire to take criticism and build on it compared to others who would just strop around.

Yes I get the feeling like Martinez Silva was another yes man who would tell everyone they were phenomenal which ultimately does nothing to improve the players performances long term.

He always had the potential. Just whether he could put it all together. For some players it never clicks into place, but he has always shown a level headedness and a willingness to learn. Lets hope he is our Kane/Drogba of this exciting new era.

I just dont pretend that when I watched DCL be largely bang average and barely score 2-3 seasons ago that I always knew he would improve just to be proven right on the internet.

Wasn't his fault that he had to be our no1 forward at the time but he was and therefore the expectations on him to perform to a high level were justified.

You dont become chairman of a company and get let off if the company bombs because you're younger than the average chairman and lacking experience - if you're in that position then you're judged on output end of story.
