He doing the bizz and playing well Joey, but I'll eat humble pie when he's doing it consistently over a few seasons.
Oh yes I agree, he has to be a consistent player plus score now ..
He and Rhico last season to score 13 league goals last season was amazing plus kept us up with so a poor midfield plus a poor Keeper behind them ........
Top of the league with the Jinx team to face next up.......

Exactly. I think his Dad is understandably hugely excited about his season so far but going after the fans in a Facebook message is a little bit premature.

I think fans going after the player was a bit premature personally.

£1.5m

England age groups.(WC winning goal)

Coach. Ancelotti/Ferguson.

Humble, respectful, cute as a biscuit.

Built like a tank, brimming full of confidence. But yeah, didnt score for 10 games last season.

Yeah, Ive been convinced for a long time that the true determining factor of success in sport is hard work and determination. Because that is an intangible that you cant see unless you really know a player personally, that makes it hard for fans to predict a players success. A player who is determined can fail his first month in a new league, but be dominant later.

All players in all sports at the top level have great talent. Its true, some have an extra level of that talent. But whether they turn out good or not is more and more obvious about their ability to take the knocks and get back up, reapply themselves, work the extra hours, and be determined to succeed versus deciding its too hard and giving up.

Every top talent at Everton right now had to work through those hard times and drive forward to get to where they are. Holgate did it. DCL did it. Richarlison did it. Digne did it. Richarlison did it. Keane did it. Gomes did it. James did it. Every single one was a player we either picked up when they were down or out of favor, or we stuck with when they were poor. Talent decides if you arrive in the big leagues. Hard work and determination decide if you stay there.

I will admit I am someone who was here before ... Can't be bothered going into who I was. I could be one of a good few. Up to someone to shut me down... It would likely be championed by one of the idiots who dragged this thread down.

This thread was a complete and utter embarrassment... Good posters were detailing specifics about DCLs play, improvement areas, his natural talent Vs required coaching. But the responses to them were like something from a school playground... Taking the Mickey out of people who have been proven right and they were so arrogantly dismissing the lad, insulting him and anyone who dared to say he will be a very good player.

The people who said he wasn't good enough were that heavily invested in it that they couldn't watch a game without eagerly typing in when he missed a chance. That's not being a supporter, it's not being constructive.... It's having some deep rooted insecurities that mean being right about something I'd more important than a player doing well for your team. They are still on here now....they know who they are and don't deserve to enjoy what the lad has bought us.

"Glad he's proved me wrong"...... He hadn't proved you wrong.... You proved yourselves to be thick and arrogant.

I know for a fact he works hard, I know that he's an elite level athlete. No, he's not gonna burst the net from 30 yards or dribble past 4 players. He's an old styled centre forward with modern fitness levels.

I could pick 20 posts and embarrass @ForeverBlue92 and @orly @arminisgod .. I could probably tell them things that may make them embarrassed but I doubt very much they have that in them.

Hope his dad actually does post on here.

Anyone with eyes could see how much DCL has improved over the past 2-3 years. If he keeps up even a 1 in 2 record for the rest of the season we finish top 4.

Bloody hell has someone snuffed it? You would think its celebrate the boy he's been class and long may it continue. There is having a purple patch but minus the continue after the lockdown he has been scoring for fun. If youre not enjoying it then think your supporting the wrong team or maybe the wrong sport.

Every bugger in here needs to cheer up

DCL heading ability is formidable & almost unstoppable one of the best around...

Hold up play, ground work, speed, dedication & ambition are all attributes he possesses...

He has added guile in the box as he has progressed this season with goals galore...

On target to hit 20+ goals this season in all competitions...

Let's hope it's the start of something new & exciting from this young striker...

I reckon most players and certainly their families regularly check out this and other fan sites. Criticism can be justified of course, but it's easy to go overboard after a bad performance (I'm as guilty as anyone BTW) and at times we perhaps forget that they are human and have the same frailties as the rest of us.
Who knows?, some may at times even visit the Discussion & help on depression & mental health related issues thread for support.

...in general terms, I always think it’s lazy criticism to label somebody a ‘Championship Player’. It’s such a nonsense descriptor. Players with apparent limitations, might have a specific skill set a PL manager needs in his team.

From the outset, DCL has always had enough to positively impact a football match. A succession of managers haven’t picked him to aid his development, a succession of managers have picked him because he does the job he’s asked, he contributes and he’s better than other options available.

Very recently a number of posters on here have wanted to give Kean a run of games ahead of DCL. it’s all about opinion, be interesting if that clamour had continued if Kean was still here.

The general consensus among players is to enter at your own risk, same with their families. The amount of garbage from people who likely couldn't get picked for a game of FA doubles is the reason.

80% of strikers will be of the ilk of DCL in the next 10 years, tall, quick, strong lads who can run all day and jump. That's what's being scouted for now, they look at genealogy - was the granddad tall etc. They barely look at whether a kid dribbles like Messi . .. if he's gonna be 5ft 6 he needs to be exceptional.. if he's gonna be 6ft 4, built like a brick outhouse and can do the 100m in 10 seconds he will get to the under 18s till he's proven that coaching will not improve their ability to do things they want.

That is why DCL is where he is. He's coachable but he's always been an outstanding athlete,. By 28 he will be unplayable from a physical perspective.

Lukaku was unplayable for his age physically and that meant he neglected the technical aspects of his training, although in the box he's a natural finisher.

DCL isn't a natural finisher, he's learning via repetition and discipline. It's working.
