I think it was because he was a high quality 1 in 2 goalscorer Pedro. That and his oestrogen levels.

DCL has been excellent this season and I hope he gets close to Lukaku's output, that'll be great for everyone

In the long term, the time invested in a young player may pay off, but in the short to medium term they're a detriment with no guarantee of being worth the hassle.

It's a hard balance to get right. But we shouldn't be saying play them all regardless just because it worked out once.

Yeah, that's on the club for not replacing Lukaku.

Not one of those players even hinted at having an upward trajectory though, so I don't think they're valid comparisons.

Lukaku had spells of 9 and 10 games without scoring... I'm sure if Dom goes 9 games without scoring he won't get caught offside 6 times a game pointing to space and cannoning balls into touch with his shins.

He will probably work the space for others to exploit,

Well I'm not sure - he went 10 games without scoring or really contributing last season. And that's fine, it's all learning and many of us made suggestions on how he could improve his game. I for one am glad he listened to me.

Sometimes you just need to admit you are wrong. It's ok, we are human. Even DCL is.... Well not really he's a machine isn't he.
