I can't say i would believe anyone if they say they knew he'd turn out like this but a lot could see the good things in his game, his attitude has always ben spot on, he is a humble grounded lad who seems to take on a lot through training rather than natural ability. You could see he had the work ethic and right ingredients for it to fall into place but he still had to do it.
DCL is a huge success story and an inspiration to these young guns who think they are billy big bollocks before kicking a first team ball.
He might get it this year with us........

There is definite smugness. Bringing up people slating him in the past and saying "I always knew he was a top player" and trying to embarrass people for once having a negative opinion of DCL's game is smug. But you are right there's plenty of embarrassing vitriol directed at players too.
I'd be lying if I didn't moan about DCL at some point or another. If you'd have told me 3 years ago he could be the player he is now I wouldn't have believed you. Credit to his work rate and attitude towards self improvement. I love him these days, long may his form continue. One thing was always clear his work rate is fantastic.

Played golf the other week with a lad who was a top amateur player.
He told me scouting in the modern game is weird...
It is. Jack Wilshire is one of the best football players I've seen in terms of passing the football and running a game. Legs have gone .... No good.
Henderson is technically average in comparison. ... But he's physically able to dominate games. Covers ground, organises the team.
DCL showed quite early a very good turn of pace, excellent leap, a good appetite to work hard and take on big centre halves in a battle
Goalscoring is a bonus from DCL, I don't see him being anything more than a 15 plus goal striker which is solid, but the likes of Richarlison will get their share through him.

The smugness is a much needed kicking to people who were nothing short of a disgrace to a young player.
Tough. They deserve the embarrassment. The posts at the time were embarrassing. Kopites even referencing them.... People need to be mindful that lot copy and paste our stuff on their sites.

68 goals is some top stat padding from the overrated one isn't it to be fair. About 50 against lower half sides, when already 1 or 2 goals up. .....
Even the inter fans have him sussed as a flat track bully.... He cost them champions League knockout cos his arse went against Barca's B side. Had 4 clear cut chances ..... Awful.
Cost inter the uefa cup with that woeful control of his.
Anyway.... you don't need to worry about him he's had his last big prrm move which he blew.... He will be off from inter soon enough.
