I think you're right. Looks to me that he's still working his way back to peak fitness. Seemed a second off making his runs, and generally laboured with the ball at his feet. Looked completely knackered after that sprint to get in on the one-on-one, too.

He's shown all season that his hold up play and all round game have stepped up a notch. He'll be back to that level after a few more games.

Deffo mate. Would you rest him against the mancs for Spurs or do you think he can play both.

If the sports scientists think a rest is needed, or he's in the 'red zone' for physical load, I'd definitely rest him next game. Depends on what the advice is though. Maybe it's a case he needs more minutes.

Richarlison looks like he has a point to prove, especially if given the chance to be the main man up front. I think his bruised ego would nearly guarantee him a goal there. That with King's arrival should mean that resting DCL shouldn't be too much of an issue.

Needed that big time tonight, even if he did waste an easy chance later on.

I think his form in the first 10 games maybe give a slightly false picture of just quite how good he is, but he's making superb progress this season and should end on around 20 like people have said.

Important that we keep supporting him even in his quieter spells. The more he works with Carlo the better he'll become. Easy to forget DCL is still only 23 too, plenty of progress to come.

The biggest issue I have with the fans is lots of them just equate a no goal game to a bad game which is just stupid. Some of the games he hasn’t scored he’s been immense and tonight he scored but was pretty meh.

Played well tonight but I think he was out on his feet towards the end, he put @ big shift in tonight, we have the option now to rotate with king and Richarlison in the mix. Keep him fresh.

Similar situation with James - his quality often helps others find spaces to show their own quality, doesn't just need goals/assists to prove that.

With Dom I'm not sure he even realises how good he can be. Think of the progress he's made in just the last 12 months. Another similar 12 months and we could have a great striker on our hands.
