...very good point, L. I was taken with him when I watched his first interview after he signed. I thought then that he was grounded and his parents will be happy with how he’s turning out.

For all the quirkiness, Tom Davies is also a good lad and it’s no coincidence that youngsters make friends with those they are comfortable with. He’s becoming the ‘face of Everton’ and potentially ‘the face of the FA’.

taking his cap off when he met Southgate, classy.

In the first half we seemed so lightweight up front I felt like turning off at halftime after DCL's 1 on 1.

I've heard his late equaliser described as "scrappy". Maybe from a defensive point of view with a packed penalty area but he calmly took the ball down with his chest and finished in the same manner.

I still don't think he's back to full match fitness and thankfully for is he seems keen to continue his learning rather than bask in his recent success.

...the touch to take the ball down was excellent but the finish was all about desire and determination to reach that ball ahead of the keeper. He’s not a top goalscorer, I’m not sure he ever will be but he’ll contribute goals and he’ll also contribute much more to the cause.

13 in 19 games, but he's not a top goal scorer?

Ok mate.

...ha, ha. Very good point & long may it continue.

I think with a goalscorer when they’re in on goal ‘you expect them to score’, with somebody who scores goals, ‘you hope they score’. I’m still in the latter category with DCL but he’s terrific. He offers so much more than goals & even when he might not be on top of his game he’ll contribute.

He's scored more from open play than any other player in the league. He's been exceptional in front of goal.

I know he's missing some, and not scoring any worldies yet, or even anything out of the box, but it's great, really great, he's got 18 this season so far (13 + 2 internationals + 3 in the cup) - that is incredible. And his goal yesterday was very very good - many improvements. Every time he scores a goal or does something good he'll take confidence and work on it.
His 'assist' for Doucoure could have been much better but he got lucky. So happy for him.

He's getting better all the time. If he misses a few and only scores in the box this year, but STILL gets 25 overall this season (well on course for that - 17-20 in the Prem + a few in the cup / internationals) that is brilliant. Then the next stage can be outside the box, not missing chances, dangerous on the ball etc...He's got the work ethic and desire to improve all the time.

His one on one finishing is garbage but hopefully it's something he learns to improve on, we don't give much players 1 vs 1 chances at all in this team even when we had Lukaku it felt rare but if he wants to go to the next level that is next up for him.
