I like DCL ... Everyone knows that - of his type there aren't many better strikers in the league.

For me the tipping point comes price Vs value and potential replacement.

If for example some club were prepared to break the bank to get him - let's say Man United at £100m. I would take the money.

Not because I don't rate DCL but I think we need to strengthen and he may be at his prime value for a sale.

I am not. The fact that he missed an opportunity or two is not that important. He scored and ALL strikers miss chances. Our defeat was due to a totally inept midfield who were outfought, outthought and could not string two passes together.
Yes we weren’t great on the day, but he should have won us the points. He got 3/4 good passes into him. Where his touch left him
Down. And the 2 free headers. It’s the difference top class striker will make.

Remember him clean through at Leeds 2-1 up. And hit it straight at the Keeper. That could have cost us big time. He has to score that, it was a poor miss. When he has time to think or has to take a touch, he seems to get it all wrong or isn’t clinical enough.

Every player has a bad touch sometimes, every player misses a goal sometimes. The extra scrutiny a lad who most deemed "Championship standard" gets is bewildering.

Well yes

But there's nothing wrong with having high expectations with someone like Dom because he's much better than he showed the other night. Most forwards would be happy with getting the goal but he shouldn't be because he's a top player. He's a player who has improved year on year so no reason that doesn't continue because he still has flaws to work on.

Far better having players who we know can keep on raising the bar than players who have already hit their ceiling.

Ah the arl from open play shout.

Boss considering most of DCLs goals come from positions closer than the pen spot, shall we get rid of all them as well?

Never understand why people have to look for the negatives in our own players, those who have contributed to a lot of points for us this season and help us get to where we are.

Criticise those that are crap fair enough but without Doms goals this season we’d be around 15th in the table. We have a lot to be thankful for this season because of him.

People who don’t understand why open-play goals are more important than total goals (including penalties) drive me up a wall. I can’t be bothered writing a thorough explanation but surely one exists somewhere? Vardy getting 6+ free attempts at goal from 12 yards out, versus DCL getting 0 has a huge bearing on comparing their goal records. It’s not even as if penalties are always drawn by the taker. Vardy gets a free pop at goal because of good work by Barnes whereas DCL wins a penalty (for example, vs. Liverpool and Chelsea) and doesn’t see any credit reflected in his goal stats. Open play goals + penalties drawn would probably be the best measure.
