He's got a point Joey, a top striker gets us at least a point against Burnley, DCL is a good player, his finishing has really improved just needs the composure to go with it now
You could argue Richys two efforts in the first half where powder puff shots, but they were not .... look at our defence first...in the first half they were far too deep... the goals Burnley got were like free kicks without any wall in front of them .......
We deserved nothing from that game we were awful......

You can’t be sure he would have missed though, he’s about 50-50 on one on one goals
well he missed a sitter vs leeds and the game before (or was it 2?) iirc. talking bout situations where he has time to think & place a shot. for a poacher he's great, his instinctive reactions are top and he finds the net reliably, but I think it's just me/us expecting more than just a fox in the box from him. He's got the athleticism to take him top of the world, just needs to calm his nerves (or whatever)

We were awful not denying that but DCL and Richy both needed to do better with chances they had. Davies was at fault for the first and for as good a strike the 2nd was, Allan should have done better than diving in the way he did

They fed on scraps - how many saves did Pope have to make ?

Too true, they had loads of space to shoot.

There was at least 2 chances DCL should have had if he could have gotten the ball under control, Pope didn't make these saves because DCL's control was utter crap on the night and couldn't get these shots off
Hard to shoot if you don't control the ball dropping over your shoulder on a windy night .,......So it was all his fault then .......I've heard ducks fart in the vestry ......fgs .....

Mate come off it, he controlled the ball and then volleyed it away with his other foot, a better player takes it down and tests the keeper at least. DCL has improved this season nobody is denying that but he still need to improve further and that is mainly in his composure

I think there's a lot more scope for someone coming in and challenging Calvert-Lewin than Kane, but I know what you mean.

Kean would have been ideal if it'd worked out.

Yes of course, just the broader point though. In a strange way, probably not now, as Kane plays as much as a 10. Hes a brilliant footballer, and you can pick players around him in a way you cant with DCL. Like Kean could more easily play with a Kane than a DCL.

It's a really hard conundrum. Similar to Leicester and Vardy as well.

I hope King can be someone who can challenge him along with Richarlison. I also wouldn't mind seeing Ings come in in the cheap in the summer.

In fact, while I'm the lads biggest fan, if say 80-90m was chucked our way from United I'd be tempted to flip, gambling Ings in and use the money to strengthen the rest of the squad.

The way Kane has reinvented himself is amazing

No one has scored more goals from open play in the prem than him. Let that sink in that all the ‘world class’ strikers who never have a bad touch or never miss a chance, and play in teams that create bundles of chances every match aren’t scoring as many as DCL. He must be doing something right, or maybe all strikers happen to have weaknesses that we don’t notice when we only see them score chances on match of the day.

It seems like we're veering back into blaming our good players for the team not being good as a whole with DCL

What do you mean the team not being as good as a whole?

If we start finding ways to create more chances than for one player at a time - i.e. not just have DCL or Rich scoring at once, but both of them, then we'll be far better off.

We're not very good right now is what I mean
