Sitters! Come on...

Fbref has DCL at 4 shots for an xG of 1.1. He pretty much performed on par with the chances that were created for him. They were definitely not sitters as is being implied.

In this team I don't think many strikers would have scored more than 14/19 this season. He missed a couple on Saturday but so do all top strikers. Next year with a bit more creativity in the team if he plays 35 league games and 45 in total I would hope his figures will be 22/30. I know we have James but he has missed chunks of the season if he had played a little more no doubt there would have been more chances created.

No one has scored more goals from open play in the prem than him. Let that sink in that all the ‘world class’ strikers who never have a bad touch or never miss a chance, and play in teams that create bundles of chances every match aren’t scoring as many as DCL. He must be doing something right, or maybe all strikers happen to have weaknesses that we don’t notice when we only see them score chances on match of the day.

That's the key point for me. For a lad who apparently cant finish, he has certainly finished an awful lot of chances this season.

The way we've been playing since December (negative slow garbage) and he's scored 19 goals overall is really positive and the best thing is he's only just getting started.

well he missed a sitter vs leeds and the game before (or was it 2?) iirc. talking bout situations where he has time to think & place a shot. for a poacher he's great, his instinctive reactions are top and he finds the net reliably, but I think it's just me/us expecting more than just a fox in the box from him. He's got the athleticism to take him top of the world, just needs to calm his nerves (or whatever)

Yes of course, just the broader point though. In a strange way, probably not now, as Kane plays as much as a 10. Hes a brilliant footballer, and you can pick players around him in a way you cant with DCL. Like Kean could more easily play with a Kane than a DCL.

It's a really hard conundrum. Similar to Leicester and Vardy as well.

I hope King can be someone who can challenge him along with Richarlison. I also wouldn't mind seeing Ings come in in the cheap in the summer.

In fact, while I'm the lads biggest fan, if say 80-90m was chucked our way from United I'd be tempted to flip, gambling Ings in and use the money to strengthen the rest of the squad.

Has he been linked with United? If anyone was going to come in with a big bid, I imagine it'd be them. Martial's class when he's on it, but I think he's had his time there now.

From what I saw of King of Bournemouth, I think he's good enough to be in the mix. It's surprised me that he's not started ahead of Iwobi or Bernard, or up front when Calvert-Lewin has been injured (I'm not a fan of Richarlison as a lone striker), and the whole thing seems a bit of a waste now that 4th is basically gone before he's even had a go.

The way we play up the pitch mainly comes through dcl. Holding up the ball laying it off and move forward. Will be interesting in the summer what type of striker we go for, someone who can hold the ball up as good as dcl or different type of striker.

The Dominator is the very least of our problems.

Sure we need other Striking options, but hes a great player and we should be thankful rather than trying to pull him apart for every bad touch.

We need a young midfielder enforcer plus a playmaker , a right back and a fast winger, before even replacing DCL or Rhico for that matter.......

Replacing? If we are to progress we don’t replace them 2 we add to them. Yes we have bigger priorities at right back and right wing especially, But we still need someone to rotate up top to keep our forwards fresh.

Strange one josh king. The amount of minutes he has played either says he is crap in training or was just not wanted. Now I thought both Carlo and brands had to agree on transfers??
