I hate this we need to move on, DCL has not played well or put a shift in for sometime now, it’s like he believes his own hype.

Not convinced he is the answer, him bearing down on goal if we get to a semi final goalie to beat to get us level or into the final it’s not going in lads

I'm not sure you can teach how to be a natural goal scorer.
He can do the headers and the 10yds and closer one touches.
He can do the 10yds outside the box on the ground layoffs and the header flick ons.
And he'll run the channels all day if that what's required

The best we can hope for is, that with experience, he'll know what works in one on ones with the keeper and when to do it, aka, the percentage ball.

Lukaku was not the complete striker and he went for £75-90M, depending on who you read...we paid £28M 6yrs(?) ago for the 'not quite proven' version.
If somebody came in for D.C.L tomorrow - they could easily put down that £28M and not even get in the door

Edit; we need to get in better players behind him, let them put the ball on his head and foot aroumd the 8ys from goal mark and play to his strengths - such as they are.

Edit 2; we need to get in better players anyway, not spunk £75+M on an and singing all dancing super striker

He is the answer when he is sold on you see who will score with that midfield......plus who is out ther for 500 ,000as that's all DCL cost us every striker has a bad spell or misses chances even Kane .....
If he played over the park treble his goal tally as they whip crosses in ....as most top six teams do ......both him & Rhico missed six chances last night DCL two ......

I like DCL, he has the attributes to be a quality striker. But he made their keeper look like prime schmeichel yesterday. Don't remember him ever scoring a one-on-one, but I'm sure he has that I can't remember.

Surely this is something that you can practice and get better at though, as it is all about when to pull the trigger.

Very disappointing, and frustrating, seeing him fail to score against Palace. In past games the criticism has nearly always been about the lack of service he gets, but there can be no complaints about that yesterday. Hopefully, the lad will sort himself out and regain his goalscoring touch for our remaining games.

TBH their keeper had a great game even our goal it took a wonder strike for us to score through the eye of a needle but we should have been 3-0 up at half time I agree 2 for Rhico one for DCL crap happens ....

Fair play to him, not hiding. He'll be fully aware that he needs to improve further it's not all about whether he can. Big progress this year but NEEDS to be doing so much more in one on one situations.

TBH their keeper had a great game even our goal it took a wonder strike for us to score through the eye of a needle but we should have been 3-0 up at half time I agree 2 for Rhico one for DCL crap happens ....

Hahahhaha no he didn't, the keeper made saves any keeper makes, the finishes from everyone were horrible ( minus James as you said ) but he's actually a quality footballer so you can expect that

The lack of competition for the strikers roll at our club is killing the job. DCL and Richie are probably the first 2 names on the team sheet each week irrespective of how they've performed. Jeez even Aguero, Martial and others like them aren't sure they'll be in the team yet these 2 need not fear about their places. Very unhealthy situation for a team muted as possible top 4 contenders. 2 proven strikers has to be a priority in the summer after the right back issue is sorted.
